Please note that all Pick N Mix is bagged in an environment alongside other products that may contain nuts and other allergens.

Common Allergens in Our Products

Our sweets may contain one or more of the following allergens:

  • Milk and dairy products - Found in chocolate, fudge, toffee, and some creamy sweets

  • Gelatine - Derived from animal collagen (pork or beef). Found in most gummy and jelly sweets, marshmallows
  • Carmine/E120 - Red colouring derived from insects. Used in some red and pink sweets
  • Beeswax/E901 - Used as a glazing agent on some sweets
  • Shellac/E904 - Insect-derived glazing agent used to make sweets shiny
  • Whey, lactose, milk powder - Dairy ingredients found in chocolate and creamy sweets

For Those Avoiding Certain Additives

  • E102 (Tartrazine) - Yellow colouring that may cause allergic reactions in some people
  • E110 (Sunset Yellow) - Orange colouring that may affect activity and attention in children
  • E122 (Carmoisine) - Red colouring that may affect activity and attention in children
  • E129 (Allura Red) - Red colouring that may affect activity and attention in children
  • E104 (Quinoline Yellow) - Yellow colouring that may affect activity and attention in children
  • E124 (Ponceau 4R) - Red colouring that may affect activity and attention in children

Warning: Products containing these colours may state "may have an adverse effect on activity and attention in children" on the label.

For Halal Requirements

  • Gelatine source - Must be from halal-certified sources (not pork-derived)
  • Alcohol-based flavourings - Some sweets may contain alcohol extracts
  • E120 (Carmine) - Some interpretations consider insect-derived ingredients non-halal

For Gluten Intolerance/Coeliac Disease

  • Wheat flour - Found in liquorice and some chewy sweets
